It’s the last day of 2025, so why not listen back to some of the top title games we covered live here at Central Jersey Sports Radio in the year gone by?
We put it to a vote by the fans on the 13 championship games we aired in 2025, and narrowed it down to the top five vote-getters. Now, we’re going to rerun those broadcasts, starting with No. 5 at noon, then right up to No. 1, ending just before midnight!
- #5: Girls’ Basketball, GMC Tournament Final: St. Thomas Aquinas wins its fifth straight GMC Tournament title, with its third different coach in that span, beating Monroe 71-52. (Air-time: 12 noon)
- #4: Baseball, GMC Jim Muldowney Championship Tournament: JP Zayle’s Walk-off grand-slam sends St. Joseph-Metuchen past Edison, 7-4, as the Falcons complete a tournament run by winning all four games in their final at-bat. (Air-time: 2 pm)
- #3: Girls’ Basketball NJSIAA Group 4 Girls State Final: The Lady Raiders win the state Group 4 championship, holding off West Orange, 55-52 at Rutgers.Somerset County Tournament Final: Immaculata blanks Ridge, 3-0, to win its record 15th SCT championship. (Air-time: 4:20 pm)
- #2: Baseball, NJSIAA Group 1 State Final: In a game that began in Hamilton on a Saturday, but only saw a half-inning played before it was postponed by rain and finished the following Monday up in Bergen County, Middlesex edges out Midland Park, 3-2. (Air-time: 6:15 pm)
- #1: Baseball, NJSIAA Central Jersey Group 4 Final: Hillsborough used a late rally to win its first sectional trophy since 2012, winning 13-6 at Old Bridge. (Air-time: 9 pm)
