A look at Friday sectional title game results, regional championship matchups

The NJSIAA crowned 12 sectional championships Friday night, with six more title games taking place Saturday, and one on hold until next weekend.

Ramapo and Northern Highlands’ North 1, Group 4 title game was delayed a week due to the death of Ramapo head coach Drew Gibbs earlier in the week.

Here are Friday night’s results:

  • Central Group 5: Hillsborough 35, North Brunswick 8
  • South 5: Kingsway 21, Toms River North 14
  • North 2, Group 5: Clifton 19, Eastside 18
  • South Group 4: Millville 40, Ocean City 3
  • North 2, Group 4: Irvington 28, Middletown South 13
  • Central Group 3: Woodrow Wilson 28, Rumson-Fair Haven 6
  • North 1, Group 3: West Morris 21, West Esssex 20
  • North 2, Group 3: Cranford 45, Sparta 21
  • South Group 2: Point Pleasant Boro 32, Willingboro 8
  • Central Group 2: Haddonfield 28, Rairtan 7
  • North 1, Group 2: Caldwell 44, Hanover Park 14
  • North 1, Group 1: Park Ridge 14, Hasbrouck Heights 0
  • North 2, Group 1: Cedar Grove 15, Mountain Lakes 7

Here’s a look ahead at regional championships, which will be played the next two weekends at either Met Life Stadium or Rutgers University’s SHI Stadium. Game dates, sites and times will be determined by the NJSIAA and announced Sunday. Teams that play regular season games Thanksgiving week will play the weekend of December 4-5, and are noted below:

  • South 5: Hillsborough vs Kingsway (Dec. 4-5)
  • North 5: Clifton vs. Passaic Tech/East Orange
  • South 4: Millville vs. Shawnee/Winslow (Dec. 4-5)
  • North 4: Irvington vs. Ramapo/Northern Highlands (Dec. 4-5)
  • South 3: Woodrow Wilson vs. Delsea/Cedar Creek
  • North 3: Cranford vs. West Morris
  • South 2: Point Pleasant Boro vs. Haddonfield (Dec. 4-5)
  • North 2: Caldwell vs. Jefferson/Rutherford
  • South 1: Woodstown/Woodbury vs. Salem/Paulsboro (Dec. 4-5)
  • North 1: Park Ridge vs. Cedar Grove

The Non-Public finals also will be held the weekend of Dec. 4-5.

In Non-Public A, Don Bosco got by St. Augustine 17-0, and will face the winner of tomorrow’s St. Peter’s Prep/Bergen Catholic game. In Non-Public B, it will be DePaul and Red Bank Catholic vying for the title. DePaul topped Holy Spirit 28-14, while RBC beat St. Joe’s-Hammonton Friday night 21-10.
