Plainfield closes out first win in 13 years against Westfield with Brown and Watkins, earns Week 13 Chris’ Auto Body “Drive of the Week”

This week, it’s the last drive of the Thanksgiving Day clash between Plainfield and Westfield, with the Cardinals prevailing 14-9 for their first win in the series since 2011. Plainfield got the ball back on a Blue Devils’ punt with just under four minutes to go, and they kept Westfield from ever getting the ball again.

Phillipsburg’s long drive to start second half in Group 4 semis is the Week 12 Chris’ Auto Body “Drive of the Week”

With the win, Phillipsburg will meet Winslow Twp. for the Group 4 state title on Wednesday, December 4th at Rutgers, a game you can hear on Central Jersey Sports Radio.

This week, it’s Phillipsburg’s fantastic finish to win the North 2, Group 4 title game, 13-11 over Northern Highlands. The Stateliners had the ball, down one, with no timeouts at their 36-yard line, and set up a school-record 46-yard field goal by Alexie Moriera as time expired to win it.

Steady diet of Stieglitz gives Ridge win, and Week 9 Chris’ Auto Body “Drive of the Week”

This week, it’s Ridge and star runningback Aidan Steiglitz, who capped an early fourth quarter drive with a 25-yard touchdown run and two-point conversion to give the second-seeded Red Devils a 22-14 win over seventh-seed Rahway in the opening round of the North Jersey, Section 1, Group 4 playoffs.

Belvidere runs the rock to run the clock in Week 8 Chris’ Auto Body “Drive of the Week”

This week, it’s Belvidere, which capped an 8-1 regular season with a 34-26 win over Middlesex. After the County Seaters took a 20-0 lead in the second quarter, the Blue Jays got on the board with their first score, then found the end zone three more times in the third quarter to take a 26-20 lead. Belvidere then got a fumble recovery for a score by Mason Chamberlain, followed by a two-yard TD run by Kyle Blew in the fourth quarter to take an eight-point lead, and late in the game, needed to control the clock to run it out. And that they did, earning a tough fourth-down conversion in the final minute to go into victory formation.

Long drive led by Jankowicz, Hillsborough TD is Week 7 Chris’ Auto Body “Drive of the Week”

This week, it’s Hillsborough, which had its lead cut to 20-14 in the early fourth quarter on a one-yard touchdown run by James Bodley. But the Raiders answered with a long drive, almost exclusively on the ground with Jackson Jankowicz, and he punched in a five-yard touchdown run after a long pass play on a wheel route to Andrew Schwarz.

Nolan’s two-minute drill, Hanratty’s go-ahead TD is Week 6 Chris’ Auto Body “Drive of the Week”

This week, it’s Bernards, which was down 22-21 late to Summit, but scored on a Terrance Hanratty run with 55-seconds left. The Mountaineers went for two and got it to lead 29-22, then held Summit on the ensuing drive to move to 7-0 on the season, their 21st straight win against Big Central competition.

Somerville’s speed sparks Pioneers past Summit for Week 5 Chris’ Auto Body “Drive of the Week”

This week, it’s Somerville, which scored early and often in a 41-0 win over Summit in a battle of undefeated teams on Friday, October 4th at Brooks Field in Somerville. The long drive had two big run plays, the first from QB Brenden Pacheco to set up a Terrell Mitchell touchdown run to open the scoring.

Rain doesn’t stop Del Val and Kelton Ibach in Week 4 Chris’ Auto Body “Drive of the Week”

This week, it’s Delaware Valley, playing in the rain at Vorhees. The Vikings started with an onside kick that the Terriers recovered. And despite a fumble, they got two big run plays to the left sideline and set up quarterback Kelton Ibach’s game-opening score, that led to an eventual 57-6 road victory for Del Val.

Late Colonia TD drive in “Bragging Rights Trophy” with Woodbridge is Week 2 Chris’ Auto Body “Drive of the Week”

This week, it’s Colonia. The Patriots were down ten at home late in the fourth quarter to Woodbridge, but put together a solid drive, led by QB Dylan Chiera’s aerial attack and two nice grabs by RJ Wortman to cut the lead to 42-39. But Woodbridge would ultimately hold on for a 42-39 win.
