The kickoff to the 2025 high school football season in New Jersey is right around the corner, and Central Jersey Sports Radio has you covered with live play-by-play of more than a dozen games this season.
The regular season schedule includes ten games, with the final week – Cutoff Weekend on October 24th and 25th a “flex week” game, dependent on how they may factor into the playoff chase.
The season opens with Spotswood hosting Middlesex on Thursday, August 28th, in the first game under the Chargers’ brand-new permanent lights. We follow it up with two big rivalry games, including “the granddaddy of ’em all” in Middlesex County, Carteret at Perth Amboy on September 5 and the Mountain Valley Trophy game on September 12th, with Delaware Valley visiting Bernards. The Mountaineers also have brand-new permanent lights for the first time this season.

Then, we’ve got two inter-county matchups, with Hunterdon Central visiting Bridgewater-Raritan on the 19th, and Franklin at Edison to close out the month on the 26th.
October begins with another big rivalry on the third, as Sayreville visits Piscataway. The next weekend is a double-dip, with Roselle Park visiting Highland Park Friday night, and state Group 4 finalist and North 2, Group 4 champ Phillipsburg avoiding Friday rush-hour traffic with a Saturday matinee at St. Joseph-Metuchen.

Plainfield will visit Central Jersey Group 3 champions Somerville on the 17th, the last pre-determined regular season game, as the following weekend is Cutoff Weekend and a TBA for now.
Additional games and coverage may be added during the season, and Central Jersey Sports Radio also will provide postseason coverage of the NJSIAA state tournament, with those games to be announced at a later date.
