INSTANT REPLAY – Central Jersey Group 3 Final: (1) Somerville 24, (7) Delsea 6

The top-seeded Somerville Pioneers won their ninth sectional championship – and first since 2017 – with a 24-6 victory over seventh-seed Delsea in the Central Jersey Group 3 final. Brendan Pacheco threw for two touchdowns in the win, as the Pioneer defense was stellar against the challenging Wing-T run by the Crusaders.

INSTANT REPLAY – North 2, Group 1 Semifinals: (2) New Providence 21, (3) Hasbrouck Heights 14

For the second week in a row, New Providence got three touchdown runs from senior quarterback T.J. Munn, as the second-seeded Pioneers beat third-seed Hasbrouck Heights 21-14 in the North 2, Group 1 sectional semifinals. New Providence will visit top-seed Cedar Grove next Friday night in its first trip to a sectional title game since 2010.

INSTANT REPLAY – Central Group 1 First Round: (6) Woodstown 35, (3) Middlesex 28

Middlesex got two second-half touchdown catches from Ricky Fittin to give them their first lead of the game in the fourth quarter, but the third-seeded Blue Jays fell to sixth-seed Woodbury, 35-28, in the opening round of the Central Jersey Group 1 playoffs.

INSTANT REPLAY:  Old Bridge 36, Colonia 29 (2 OT)

Old Bridge rallied from a 14-2 halftime deficit, then scored twice in overtime en route to a 36-29 double-OT win against Colonia on Cutoff Weekend. The Knights scored 20 straight points in the second half, forcing the Patriots to score late in the fourth to force overtime.

Four second half touchdowns – two by Chu Odoh – helped third-ranked St. Thomas Aquinas pick up its first win ever over St. Joseph-Metuchen, as they beat the seventh-ranked Falcons 34-20 Saturday afternoon. The win extends the Trojans’ Big Central winning streak to a league record 30 games.

Spotswood got touchdown runs from Se’mir Tolbert Brimage and Sebastian Saracino – as well as a field goal from Gavin Pereira – en route to a 17-0 home on win Senior Night and Homecoming over visiting South Hunterdon. The win helped keep Spotswood’s playoff hopes alive, as they improved to 7-1.

Phillipsburg got six touchdowns from Felix Matos – five rushing and one on a scoop-and-score off a St. Joseph blocked field goal – as the 7th-ranked Stateliners rolled past the No. 5 Falcons 49-14 in a Big Central Conference crossover game. It was the first loss of the season for St. Joe’s.

A late-game drive capped by a Terrence Hanratty touchdown run propelled No. 4 Bernards past Summit, 29-22, in a Big Central Conference crossover game. The win makes the Mountaineers 7-0 and extends their league winning streak to 21 games, the second best active streak in the conference.
