Big Central Schedule for Week Six: Elizabeth puts undefeated mark on the line, Old Bridge visits resurgent Monroe, and a top ten battle as St. Joseph-Metuchen visits Piscataway

The Thursday and Saturday slates in the Big Central Conference are light on Week Six, with just two games each day, but that will make for a busy night of football under the lights Friday, with 25 games on tap.

Among them are two Top Ten clashes of teams in the Bellamy & Son Paving Top Ten. No. 5 Piscataway (5-1) hosts No. 8 St. Joseph-Metuchen (2-3), with the Falcons having dropped three straight heading in. It’ll be the first meeting of the two schools since 2021, and only their second overall. St. Joe’s won their initial matchup 15-14 in 2019, and beat Piscataway 31-7 in 2021, their first year back after Piscataway put fall sports on hiatus in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The other features No. 9 Union (5-1) at No. 6 Bridgewater-Raritan. The Panthers have won four straight since a 43-36 loss at St. Joseph-Metuchen, the Falcons’ season opener. The Farmers are having a great bounceback year after going 3-8 last season and 2-8 the year before. In Big Central play, Union has taken two of the last three, including a 27-21 victory last season.
