Defending boys’ champion Colonia was awarded the top seed in the 2025 Greater Middlesex Conference Tournament, which was seeded by committee Friday morning at Spotswood High School.

The Tournament begins Saturday morning with the play-in round, followed by the preliminary round next Tuesday, all at higher seeds, with the full first round of 16 teams playing Thursday next week.

The quarterfinals all will be held on the same day again next Saturday, February 15th, at Piscataway High School.

Central Jersey Sports Radio will have live coverage of the girls’ semifinals at 5 and 7 pm on Tuesday, February 18th, with the boys’ on Wednesday at the same time, both at Monroe High School. The Girls’ Final is at 6 pm and the Boys’ Final at 8 pm on Friday, February 21st, also in Monroe.

Central Jersey Sports Radio’s coverage of the 2025 GMC Tournament is presented by “King James” at the George Street Playhouse in downtown New Brunswick.

On the boys’ side, Colonia – the GMC Red Division champion – will go for its second straight title, after beating St. Thomas Aquinas in last year’s championship game. The top eight seeds get double-byes in the tournament. Those teams will open play next Thursday in the first round, the round of 16.

But, with the boys moving to five divisions this year, division winners were only guaranteed a top 12 finish, as opposed to the top eight in years past. Teams nine through 12 get single-byes to next Tuesday’s preliminary round.
