Second-seed Colonia has moved on to the GMC Tournament quarterfinals for the first time in two seasons, and will look to get back to the title game for the first time since that same year – 2022 – thanks to a 65-38 win over in-town rival Woodbridge in the GMCT quarterfinals at Piscataway High School Saturday afternoon.

The Barrons led early, 10-9 after one and by eight just a couple minutes into the second quarter, but the Patriots (16-8) rallied back to take a two-point lead at halftime, and controlled play the rest of the way, leading by 13 after the third, and holding on over the final eight minutes.

Woodbridge – GMC White Co-Champs with South Plainfield – fell to 15-7 in defeat.

The Patriots will face the sixth-seeded Tigers in Wednesday’s 5 pm GMC Tournament semifinal at Monroe High School, which can be heard live right here on cjsportsradio.com.
