Almost all the games have been played this weekend – with the exception of KIPP Cooper Norcross-Mastery Charter on Saturday and St. Joe’s Montvale-Bergen Catholic’s big clash on Sunday. The first shouldn’t have much effect on South 1 or South 2, and the Joe’s-BC game won’t affect any public schools.

With that, here’s a look at unofficial standings after games of Saturday, October 14 in Group 5, with results calculated using scores on Gridiron New Jersey as of 5:30 pm on October 14th. Note that last week, Gridiron had to fix some incorrectly-reported scores, so the information below could change.

The top four didn’t move after Saturday, but Plainfield and Union each moved up a spot to 5th and 6th, respectively, after Montclair lost on Saturday.
Westfield‘s loss to Ridge at home Saturday dropped the Blue Devils two spots to 13th.
No change for Bridgewater-Raritan, which we thing has a shot to make it with a win next Friday night at Old Bridge, and we still think Piscataway is out with a weak opponent in winless New Brunswick. Their UPR dropped from 16.6 to 17 based on Saturday’s results.

Residuals and SI changes moved a few things around here, knocking Hillsborough up one spot into second with a 2.8 UPR, 0.4 points ahead of Toms River North, which dropped from 3rd to fourth in OSI rank and from 2nd to 3rd in UPR.
North Brunswick dropped a spot to seventh after Rancocas Valley won Saturday to fli-flop with them, with South Brunswick and Hunterdon Central hold in 8th and 9th, respectively, following Saturday action.
We still think Old Bridge is out, in 18th place and four full UPR points behind 16th place Southern. Even 0-8 Williamstown not qualifying (they won’t reach the two-win NJSIAA threshold) won’t help them, because they still have to get past Southern.
