With just two weeks to go before Cutoff Weekend, here’s a look at the teams from the Big Central in Group 2.

NORTH 2 (Click here for official standings)

It’s Westwqod and Rutherford leading this section, with Caldwell – despite its continuing winning streak now at 21 games – falling to third. Such is life in the OSI world.

Bernards is in ninth, at 6-1 with an 8.4 UPR. They’re within two UPR points either way of sixth place or 11th, so it’s kind of a crap shoot now and too difficult to tell where we think they might end up with so many possible combineations of wins and losses by Ramsey, Madison, Dumont, West Side and Jefferson, in addition to the Mountaineers.

SOUTH 2 (Click here for official standings)

Raritan’s field goal win over St. John Vianney was a huge one, with the Lancers being a multiplier, so now the Rockets are all alone in first, with Haddonfield in second, the other top seed if the playoffs started now.

Delaware Valley and New Providence are neck and neck here, with the Terriers in eighth and the Pioneers in ninth. There’s a bit of room for them to potentially move up as high as seventh – a spot currently held by Pleasantville – but the even-better news is there’s a two-point UPR gap between New Providence and tenth-place Monmouth, so there’s a bit of breathing room if they do move up.

Johnson holds in 13th this week at 4-2, and looks solidly in, but they should be a bottom eight team, and start the playoffs on the road.
