West Morris playing best football of the season heading into North 3 Championship game against Cranford

While admitting the season has been a bit up-and-down – though a loss to Northern Highlands certainly wasn’t anything to sneeze at – Kevin Hennelly says his West Morris Central football team has shown up when it counts the most.

He feels his team has peaked at the right time as it heads into Friday afternoon’s North Group 3 Regional Championship game against Cranford at MetLife Stadium in the Meadowlands.

It’s the Big Central Game of the Week, driven by Mark Montenero and his team at the world-famous Autoland, with live coverage on Central Jersey Sports Radio.

Kickoff is scheduled for 4 pm, with pregame set for approximately 3:45 pm. Mike Pavlichko will call the game, with Edison offensive coordinator Matt Yascko providing analysis. Click here to listen.

West Morris (9-3) is the North 1 champion, while Cranford (11-0) is the North 2 champ, and looking for its first unbeaten season since 2015, also the last time it won a state title.

For the Wolfpack, they have won their last two playoff games by shutout, beating Old Tappan in the semis and West Essex in the sectional title game by the same 21-0 scores.

But they’ll face a stiff challenge against a Cranford team that saw top-rusher Colin Murray go for a career high in the sectional final over Sparta – over 300 yards – while its defense snagged five interceptions, and only allowed a third touchdown by the Spartans when the game was out of hand.
