South Brunswick will need to turn the tide against Middlesex to reach GMCT Semis

They’ve been the thorn in his side for the last five years.

South Brunswick coach C.J. Hendricks beat Middlesex the first time he faced them, but hasn’t been able to repeat the feat since.

If his team doesn’t do it this year, they’ll have to wait until 2022.

The Vikings are oh-for-their-last-four against the Blue Jays, inlcuding a 9-5 loss last year, a 6-4 defeat in 2018, and two losses in 2017: a 7-3 defeat in the GMC Tournament first round, and a 5-3 regular season loss.

And they face off again Tuesday at 4 pm in one of the first two GMC Tournament Quarterfinal games of the day. Central Jersey Sports Radio will provide live play by play of all the action, powered by presenting sponsor BEllamy & Son Paving, with the pre-game show starting at 3:45. South Brunswick’s last win in the series came in 2016, an 8-0 whitewash of Middlesex.

Of course, over the course of that winnings streak, the Jays have won three sectional titles, and a pair of Group 1 championships.
