A thrilling come from behind win over South Brunswick has given North Brunswick the top overall seed in the South Group 5 supersection, in the mock, unofficial UPR calculations performed exclusively by Central Jersey Sports Radio.
The Raiders (6-0) jumped ahead of idle Cherokee (5-0) with the win over the Vikings, considered a strong opponent by the OSI and power points, with a 4-2 record, and their only other loss coming to one-loss Old Bridge.
The loss knocked South Brunswick out of playoff contention.
Four other area teams qualified for the playoffs in our mock calculations: Old Bridge, Hillsborough, Edison and Sayreville, all with records of .500 or better. The Knights were the only other Big Central team to earn one of the top four seeds in their respective sections.
