Ridge’s win over Hillsborough earns Red Devils top overall seed in North Group 5

In the mock UPR being run by Central Jersey Sports Radio all season long, Ridge earns the overall top seed in the North Group 5 supersection, boosted in part by their win over Hillsborough, still considered by the computers as a strong opponent despite a 3-3 record.

Four Big Central Conference teams would qualify for the playoffs in this section, but the typical UPR formula shows the limitations of trying to qualify teams for the playoffs in a pandemic-shortened year.

While Watchung Hills (3-2) and Bridgewater-Raritan (2-2) would get in, so would Plainfield, which is 1-2 and hasn’t played a significant enough number of games to fairly be considered. (Example: 2-2 Bayonne was left out.)
