Top-seeded North Hunterdon won its third state sectional title overall – and first since 2017 – with a 49-35 victory over second-seed Randolph in the North Jersey, Section 2, Group 4 finals at Singley Field in Annandale on November 12, 2022. Senior quarterback Luke Martini threw for a career-high 411 yards and 5 touchdowns – also a career best – in the win.

Edison won its third state sectional title in as many tries as the 6th-seeded Eagles beat top-seed Lenape in the Central Jersey Group 5 title game on November 11, 2022 at Richard M. Driscoll Field in Medford. Edison took a 20-0 lead into halftime, and Lenape nearly rallied back, closing to within 20-14 in the fourth quarter, but senior QB Matt Yascko’s second touchdown run of the game sealed the deal.
