Big Central Schedule for Week Five: Sayreville-Old Bridge, Phillipsburg-Ridge highlight the weekend slate

There are two Top Ten matchups in the Big Central this week, as well as a host of other intriguing games as we hit the back stretch of the regular season for high school football.

The Bellamy & Son Paving Big Central Game of the Week is Friday night as No. 8 Sayreville visits No. 3 Old Bridge in a battle of 4-1 teams. Mike Pavlichko and Alec Crouthamel have the call with kickoff slated for 6 and pregame at 5:45 pm; click here to listen.

There’s also top-ranked Phillipsburg at No. 10 Ridge at 6:30, a huge game for both teams in terms of playoff standing, as are many this weekend. No. 9 St. Thomas Aquinas at previously-ranked Somerville, with both 3-2, also should be a fun one to watch, with some offensive fireworks surely to be on display. Montgomery takes a three-game win streak into Cranford to face the unbeaten, 4-0 Cougars, and Dayton (4-1) looks to bounce New Providence (4-0) from the ranks of the undefeated.

Saturday, Franklin and No. 4 Piscataway renew their longstanding rivalry after a two-year hiatus, and No. 5 St. Joseph-Metuchen delves into the Super Football Conference with a matinee at Delbarton.
