It was a lighter schedule on Day 2 of the NJSIAA state tournament for Central Jersey Sports Radio area teams, with all four higher seeds advancing, and all of the lower seeded teams going home.
Overall, four of the 13 teams from the CJSR coverage area advanced, while nine saw their seasons end.
Here are brief recaps by section, followed by full results for all brackets with area teams, then the upcoming schedule for Saturday and Monday action.
North Jersey, Section 2, Group 3
Top-seed Somerville (20-6) cruised past 16th-seed Warren Hills at home on a solid defensive effort, and despite only one player in double figures. Kaylee Lauber scored 15 points and had five rebounds, while Lily Taylor added 11 boards in the win. The Pioneers will host 8th-seed Summit Monday evening at 5:30 in the quarterfinals.
