Two things can happen when the shots just aren’t falling for a basketball team.
A little break at halftime might be just what the doctor ordered. Then again, maybe it’s just that kind of night.
For the Rutgers Prep girls Monday night in Jackson, Option Two is what happened,
The second-seeded Argonauts’ season came to an end at Jackson Liberty High School, as they fell 46-33 to top-seed Gloucester Catholic. Juinior Natalia Valdez and sophomore Sophia Georgiades each finished with nine to lead Prep, which ends its season at 20-7.
Gloucester Catholic was led by Jahzara Green, who – like Rutgers Prep, and really, the rest of her team, also struggled mightily to score in the first half. It was just 18-14 Rams at halftime.
And yet, they were able to find their shot in the second half, and most of that was from Green. She finished with a game-high 21 points, 17 of which came int he second half.
