With the exception of Somerville – the only Big Central Team that appears to have its playoff seeding locked up, at No. 1 in the South 3 supersection – just about any team in playoff contention has a game that can impact their standing.
For Old Bridge and Colonia, it’s no exception.
When the two square off Friday night on the blue turf at Colonia, a lot will be decided.
You can hear that game Friday night as our “Big Central Game of the Week” presented by Bellamy & Son Paving at 6 pm, with pregame at 5:45. Mike Pavlichko will call the play-by-play with Max Scheiner on color. Click here to listen.

The Patriots (4-4) are in a much less tenuous position than they were last year, when it looked like a win would get Colonia into the playoffs, but after a Friday night victory over Rahway, things still weren’t settled, and not really determined until the next day.
Meanwhile, The Knights (5-3) – despite some injuries early in the season and a few nagging bugs late this year – are firmly in the playoffs, it would appear. They’re at No. 10, but may have a shot at a top eight seed and a first round home game in one of the South Group 5 sections.
