Friday’s venue was Somerville High School’s Brooks Field at the Gus Vanderbeek Athletic Complex. It is one of the nicest athletic facilities in the Big Central Football Conference and it was surely rocking this past weekend!
The Pioneers were thoroughly dominant in just about every phase of the game rolling over unbeaten Summit in the first half by a stunning margin of 41-0. With the likes of Pacheco, Mitchell, Scheier, Nuzzi and Rodriguez, just to name a few of the playmakers on this team, The ‘Ville looks poised to make a run in Group 3.
It’s too bad that Woodbridge and Somerville will never meet on the field like they did during the 2020 Covid season. It would be a sold out showcase at either one of their home stadiums!
