The game was a wild one already, and it ended the way it played out over all 48 minutes.
With 100 points between the teams in the “Big Central Game of the Week presented by Bellamy & Son Paving,” and four kickoffs returned for touchdowns – one from Nick DiEsso of the Panthers and three by the Chiefs’ Jahai Johnson – the stage was set for even more wackiness.
DiEsso scored on a short touchdown run with under two minutes to go, to give Bridgewater a three-point lead it would extend to four with the point after kick splitting the uprights.
Then, after a time out, the Panthers appeared to catch Piscataway by surprise with an onside kick they recovered, giving them possession. With limited timeouts, the Chiefs couldn’t call enough to stop the clock and get the ball back, and Bridgewater came away with a 52-48 win.
