With thunderstorms in Thursday’s forecast, here’s the revised schedule for Wednesday’s opening day of the NJSIAA state tournament

It hasn’t even rained yet, but with thunderstorms – and even the potential for gusty winds and hail – on Thursday, the NJSIAA state tournament will be getting off to an early start in some places.

Non-public schools were scheduled to open Wednesday, while publics were supposed to begin play Thursday, but a few public schools are trying to get ahead of Mother Nature and open up Wednesday.

Others – like Manville – moved to earlier Thursday, allowing more of a window to play, although some already had earlier 2 pm games scheduled due to prom and other events going on this time of year.
