GMC Tournament gets into full swing with eight second round games Monday; Woodbridge-Spotswood live updates headline the schedule

Central Jersey Sports Radio’s coverage of the Greater Middlesex Conference Tournament – presented bu Auto Lounge of Edison – will continue Monday as things really get going with eight games on the slate.

Our featured game will be a White versus Blue Division matchup, as 11th-seed Spotswood travels to 6th-seed Woodbridge in the Round of 16 for a 7 pm game. Mike Pavlichko will be covering the game with live Twitter updates, and postgame reaction immediately after, presented by The Sportsplex at Metuchen.

Saturday’s four opening round games – with the tournament expanded this year to 20 teams as part of a pilot program – filled out the rest of the bracket for Monday’s games.

Weather looks ideal for baseball on Monday. As of Sunday morning, the forecast calls for a game-time temperature of 75 degrees under partly sunny skies for the 4 pm games, with winds out of the northwest at 8 MPH. Evening games can expect a temp of about 72 degrees, but quickly falling to the low 60s by 9 pm, with mostly clear skies and calmer winds.

Winners from Monday’s first round will move on to Wednesday’s quarterfinals at North Brunswick’s Community Park, with the two highest seeds remaining playing at 7 pm on the two varsity-size fields, and the others playing at 4 pm. Central Jersey Sports Radio will broadcast one 4:00 game and one 7:00 pm game.
