Girls’ SCT First Round
#10 Somerville 54, #15 Montgomery 25: The Pioneers (13-9) came hot out of the gate and never looked back, leading 13-5 after one quarter, and 28-10 at halftime, never allowing the Cougars more than eight points in any period. The Lady Mustangs dropped to 9-11 with the loss.
#11 Bernards 54, #14 Manville 12: The story was balanced scoring for the Mountaineers (15-6), who had nine players get in the scoring column, and none putting up more than ten points, with Aletha Reynolds and Sydney Incarnato grabbing team-high honors. Manville (9-11) got a team-best five from Sadie Fleming. Bernards moves on to play at six-seed Mount St. Mary (14-9) in the second round Saturday.
