Girls’ Prelims in GMC Tournament go straight chalk as eight advance to Wednesday’s first round

All eight higher seeds advanced easily Monday night in the girls’ Greater Middlesex Conference Tournament preliminary round, with every game decided by at least double digits.

The closest to pulling off an upset would have been a mild one by seed, with 18th-ranked Perth Amboy falling at 15th-seed Metuchen, 51-41. Three players scored in double figures for the Lady Bulldogs, led by Aurelie Germain’s 16 points.
