Fourth-ranked North Hunterdon fell behind at Montgomery Friday night 6-0, but rallied to take a 14-6 lead, then came back again after the Cougars tied the score at 14-all with a Luke Martini to Derek Vaddis 23-yard touchdown hookup, en route to a 21-14 victory in Skillman.
The win completes Liberty Silver Division play for the Lions, who take the division title going a perfect 3-0 against Watchung Hills, Montgomery and Plainfield, in the league’s smallest division.
Alex Urinyak factored into all three scores. He had two on his own on a pair of one-yard touchdown runs in the second quarter, finishing with a game-high 163 yards on 34 carries. He also blocked a punt in the third quarter that led to the third North Hunterdon score.
