On the weekend of the regular season before county tournaments begin, Central Jersey Sports Radio has added three more games featuring some of the best teams in the area, including the top teams in the Bellamy & Son Paving Girls’ and Boys’ Basketball Rankings.

On Saturday, February 12th, CJSR will broadcast live from Roselle Catholic, home of the Hearts 2 Hands Invitational. We’ll have the last two games of the day, where St. Joseph-Metuchen will take on Hudson Catholic at 6:15 pm, followed immediately by St. Thomas Aquinas versus Gill St. Bernard’s, scheduled for 7:45. The Trojans and Knights teams are No. 1 and No. 2 in the Bellamy & Son Paving Boys’ rankings, while Gill was third and Aquinas fourth in last week’s NJ.com statewide rankings. St. Joe’s is fifth in the Bellamy Boys’ Rankings.

On Sunday, it’ll be a doubleheader from Kean University in Union, where both the girls’ and boys’ teams from Rutgers Prep and St. John Vianney will square off.

On the girls’ side, Prep is No. 1 in the Bellamy & Son Paving Top Ten, and third in the latest NJ.com statewide rankings. But they should move up to No. 2 after the second-ranked team – Saddle River Day – lost its first game of the season to the top team, St. John Vianney, setting up the second 1 vs. 2 matchup for the Lady Lancers in as many weeks. They’ve won 46 straight games dating back to a 26-point loss to Long Island Lutheran on January 31, 2020, and haven’t lost to a New Jersey team since falling to St. Rose in the Non-Public South A title game in 2019.

On the boys’ side, the Argos are No. 3 in the Bellamy Top Ten, were 15th in the state rankings last week on NJ.com, and could rise after going 3-0 last week, including a 73-60 win over Paul VI in the Holy Cross Prep Showcase Sunday.
