North Brunswick tries to end a pair of skids when Raiders face No. 1 Colonia tonight

It’s been almost five years since the North Brunswick boys’ basketball team has beaten Colonia, and it’s been four games without a win for the Raiders in the 2021-22 season.

North Brunswick (0-4) hopes to end both skids tonight when it takes on the top-ranked Patriots (2-0) in its home opener on Central Jersey Sports Radio. Tip-off is at 7 pm, with pregame approximately 6:45. Click here to listen to Mike Pavlichko call all the action.

It’s been a rough go for the Raiders to start the year, who lost at East Orange in their opener, faced one of the best teams in the GMC in St. Thomas Aquinas, lost by a point to Perth Amboy, and fell to South Brunswick shorthanded by five players.

At the same time, Ed Breheney – now in his 32nd year as the Raiders’ head coach – is enjoying watching the development of his young team, led by mentors Ian Morris and Frankie Garbolino, the only two veterans back from a team that won the Dave Wohl/Bo Henning GMC Tournament pod last season, finishing with a 9-6 record.
