The Watchung Hills boys basketball team didn’t like how they left 2021: with losses in the Somerset County Tournament Final to Rutgers Prep, and in the North Jersey, Section 2, Group 4 finals to Elizabeth.
So, they did something about it. They won the only tournament in which they could play in the 2021 season: they Skyland Conference Tournament’s top pod, the Blue Division.
They did it by beating the only two teams they lost to in the regular season, and then avenged last year’s loss in the SCT finals.

I am so proud all players past and present that created a winning culture and put school back on the map with hometown kids that stayed home and battled the all Star teams and brought home a championship after being at the top levels in this really tough basketball state for the past few years !!!
I also wanted to say how proud I am of coach Justin Salton who’s basketball genius personality and mentorship of the student athletes is unparalleled!!!

Congratulations on a short, successful 🏀 season. So proud of the boys and coaching staff. Enjoy the moment… it was long overdue being at the finals in the State and Counties the past 3 years. This is a well-deserved hard fought championship against the best basketball teams in the State year in and year out. It’s a testament to the hard work of the coach, his staff, his players, the parents and the community of Watchung Hills.
