South River wins, drops 5 places to 24th in South 2 mock Week 4 UPR

Despite a 5-3 record, South River was left out of the NJSIAA playoffs in 2019, partially a product of an extreme schedule: wins over weak teams, losses to good teams.

This year, if there were playoffs, despite a 2-1 record, the Rams would be so far on the outside looking in they’d be in Spotswood – which also is far behind.

The Rams were in 19th at 1-1 – there’s not much you could expect after two games – but despite a win over Metuchen, South River dropped three places in the standings to 24th, only one spot ahead of 1-3 Spotswood.

Bernards, meanwhile, also despite a win, dropped from 7th to 8th place in the South Group 2 supersection, as their power point average rank fell from 4th to 5th, and their OSI rank dropped from 7th to 11th.

Below are the current UNOFFICIAL standings for the South Group 2 supersection.

The Top 16 teams would be qualifiers, designated in bold.
