Woodbridge would move into a top-seed in Week Four UPR standings

Getting it third win of the season, combined with Phillipsburg’s loss to Watchung Hills, has propelled Woodbridge into what would be a top seed in the playoffs in a hypothetical look at Week 4 UPR standings.

The undefeated Barrons move from third to second overall in the North Group 4 supersection, only behind Wayne Hills, which is 4-0 and has a UPR of 1, meaning it ranks first in both OSI and power point average.

Woodbridge – No. 1 in both the Central Jersey Sports Radio Top Ten (unanimously) and the Big Central Media Poll – ranks second overall in power point average and third in OSI, but takes second over Wayne Valley, which is 2nd in OSI but 7th in power point average, with a 3-1 record.

The Stateliners drop to 5th, while Cranford, Montgomery and Colonia would also qualify.

Below are the current UNOFFICIAL standings for the North Group 4 supersection.

The Top 16 teams would be qualifiers, designated in bold.

Please take note that all calculations are unofficial, and no mechanism exists to check or confirm these numbers and standings. Strength Index and OSI are not being calculated publicly. Only records have been confirmed. All standings are purely hypothetical.

  1. Just dosent make sense how colonia is even in that top 16 . With Irvington play two private schools beating one and they 3-1. Colonia almost lost to linden they should even be top 20 .

    1. Two things: 1. It’s still “only” three games into a season. Which leads to the next point … 2. This is why the NJSIAA has no “playoffs” this year. a lot of teams have lost 1 or 2 games, some 3, to COVID and you just can’t make a fair determination of playoff-worthiness based on 6 games or less.
