No doubt the Central Jersey Sports Radio Top Ten and Big Central Media Poll will feel this one.
Union – which picked up two first place votes out of seven in the initial media poll and was co-No. 1 with Woodbridge in the preseason and Week One CJSR rankings – had dropped completely from both lists after a two straight losses followed a season-opening win at Eastern.
But with St. Joseph coming off a nearly two-week layoff due to COVID cases on their Metuchen campus, the Farmers put together “a total team effort,” according to head coach Lou Grasso, Jr.
That propelled the Farmers to a 25-0 shutout win where the Falcons were held to under a hundred yards of offense.
