After falling behind 13-0 to East Brunswick, and committing turnovers on its first three possessions, No. 9 Old Bridge rallied and pulled away for a 35-20 win over the Bears in “The Battle of Route 18.”
The victory was the 10th straight for Old Bridge in the series, which hasn’t lost to its highway rivals since 2010, when the Bears took a 17-14 decision.
Junior QB Owen Haughney was 4-for-9 passing for 121 yards, 3 touchdowns (of 58, 42 and 15 yards) with 2 interceptions, and named Offensive Player of the Game. Junior RB Lawrence Hunter rushed 23 times for 163 yards and scored the touchdown that put the Knights ahead for good.
