The last three NJSIAA public school state championship games are moving up to North Jersey.

Middlesex Athletic Director Mike O’Donnell told Central Jersey Sports Radio Sunday night that the suspended Group 1 title game between the Blue Jays and Midland Park will be moved to the Wood-Ridge Athletic Complex in Bergen County, and will remain at 1 pm Monday afternoon. You can hear that game live on Central Jersey Sports Radio beginning at 12:50 with our pregame show by clicking here.

Following that will be the Group 2 final at 4 pm between West Morris and undefeated and state No. 1 Governor Livingston, then the Group 3 title game at 7 pm between Morris Knolls and Northern Burlington.

Cherokee won the Group 4 title over Westfield, 6-0, Saturday morning at Veterans’ Park in Hamilton, with the rain starting during the last inning or so of that contest. After much discussion, and the input of both teams, Middlesex and Midland Park got started in the Group 1 final, with first pitch at 1:03, hoping they could get it in.

But after a scoreless top of the first, the rain got too heavy, and the game had to be called. It’ll be resumed right where they left off, with Middlesex about to come to bat in the bottom of the first.

The Wood-Ridge Athletic Complex can be found at 100 Johnson Drive in Wood-Ridge.
