With only five losses among 28 games played by top ten teams in the past week, there was little change in the Bellamy & Son Paving Boys’ Basketball Top Ten rankings for Week Six. The top seven teams held steady, while eight and nine moved up, and Timothy Christian rejoined the rankings at No. 10.

Piscataway (12-3) sticks at six. After a 73-56 loss at No. 1 Colonia Tuesday, the Chiefs rebounded with an 86-49 win over Carteret at home on Friday, then a 73-42 home win over Old Bridge Saturday.

Holding in seventh is St. Thomas Aquinas (8-3). The Trojans were 3-0 in the week gone by, beating Old Bridge on Tuesday, 74-56; winning at Saddle River Day Thursday, 60-56; and they closed the week beating St. Joseph of Metuchen for the second time this season, this time at home, 77-67.

Sayreville (11-2) and Immaculata (10-3) each moved up a spot this week, to eight and nine, respectively. Both were 3-0 in the week gone by. The Bombers were 63-45 winners over South Brunswick Tuesday, 73-56 winners at South Plainfield on Thursday, then beat North Brunswick at home Saturday, 67-30. The Spartans topped Pingry on the road Tuesday, 62-49, before coming back home to beat Bridgewater-Raritan, 66-59 Thursday night. Saturday, they won at Somerville, 57-50.

Back in the Top Ten after a brief hiatus is Timothy Christian. The Tigers won Tuesday at Carteret, 56-45; Wednesday at home over New Brunswick, 77-33, and Saturday at home against Middlesex, 73-65.
