Twenty-three days ago, the Spotswood girls’ basketball team edged out Dunellen 45-42.
The Destroyers only scored five more points this time. The difference is they held the Chargers to 19, their lowest point total since a 30-19 loss at South River on January 4, 2019.
Dunellen pulled above .500 again, improving to 7-6 (6-5 in the GMC Blue), with a 47-19 win over Spotswood (4-8, 4-7) Friday night on High School Basketball powered by Bellamy & Son Paving.
On a night when Dunellen honored its four seniors – Salma Aboulhkier, Chloe Cassidy, Isabel Parcells and Meghan Greene – the quartet filled nearly three-quarters of the scoring column.
Aboulkhier finished with 16 – to lead all scorers – while Cassidy chipped in 12, going 4-for-4 from the foul line, and adding a pair of treys.
