Benjie Wimberly is a high school football coach, the Deputy Speaker in the state Assembly, and on the Executive Committee of the NJSIAA.
He’s also a big proponent of youth sports as a way to bring some sense of normalcy to student-athletes in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.
This week, as part of his role with the NJSIAA, he was among those celebrating the unprecedented majority that voted in favor of a measure that changes the association’s constitution, to allow football to play down to public school group champions.
