Central Jersey Sports Radio kicks off its inaugural slate of live high school football play-by-play in the Big Central Football Conference with two matchups Friday and Saturday involving three different counties.
Friday night, October 2, is the debut of the “Big Central Game of the Week,” as No. 3 Somerville entertains South Plainfield at 7 pm. Air-time is 6:50 for the pregame show, preceded by “TNQ Review” – an abridged version of the “Tuesday Night Quarterback” show – beginning at 6:25.
Its the first meeting between the Pioneers and the Tigers since Somerville won a 1998 playoff matchup between the schools. Prior to that, they played every year in the Mid-State Conference from 1966 through 1985.
The Somerville-South Plainfield game is brought to you locally by Laura Pallay of ReMax/InStyle Realty.

Then, on Saturday, October 3, it’s No. 4 St. Joseph-Metuchen entertaining Elizabeth for the first-time ever, at the brand-new Brenner Family Field stadium. The Falcons have a complete stadium for the first time, with bleachers and a press box having been built this summer.
